Venezuela Travel Advisory! Here’s why American’s Should NOT…
The U.S. government advises against traveling to Venezuela due to severe political instability, high crime rates, widespread shortages of food, water, and medicine, and the risk of arbitrary arrest and detention of U.S. citizens. Violent crime, including homicide, armed robbery, kidnapping, and carjacking, is common. Additionally, the country’s infrastructure, including healthcare, is significantly deteriorated, making travel hazardous. The U.S. Embassy’s ability to assist citizens is extremely limited due to the U.S. government’s withdrawal of diplomatic personnel from Venezuela.

It’s not all hunky dory in the world of travel. Sorry for the somber news, and hopefully Venezuela’s travel advisory can be lifted once things improve. It’s no doubt a gorgeous country worthy of a visit, but just not right now.
